Poem: Sunset from Poseidon’s Temple

Evening comes in blues and pinks,

The sun in streaks of gold

Heralds rest and anchors sink

Time, reflection for the soul

In silent gaze the young the old

Commit to memory the sight,

Of embers dying, growing cold

Giving way to the calm of night

When at last with muted cheer

All remaining light –

Slinks away. Whispers start, forgetting here,

We stood in brilliance so bright
